In reply to samuel. It has a set frequency range that becomes wider when there is more reduction. The reduction starts from around 2k with the "peak" of the reduction being at 16.3k (this is when you max out the threshold on a loud signal). When you are only using a small amount of reduction the the band is not that wide though. When it is reducing -4dB @ 16.3k the reduction starts at 6.9k. The "band" button is supposed to change the shape of the reduction curve from a shelf to a peak band, but I think there is a bug because it does nothing as it is right now. "Soft" is probably just a kind of lower ratio control or a -6dB control for the detector circuit. From what I can see, it only decreases the amount of reduction when activated.

interesting tho that there is no way to set the frequency it’s deessing, or at least have a couple of fixed frequencies for this?
am i missing something? is this not needed?
