The Moog Mariana synth bass plugin is currently on sale at almost half price at Plugin Boutique, allowing you to pick it up for just $49.00 rather than the Moog list price of $100.
The plugin is a Windows and macOS release for 64-bit only, and the sale ends on February 29.
Moog Mariana is a fairly new release, having just dropped in December 2023.
Currently, when you buy the Mariana at Plugin Boutique, you also get one of the following as a free bonus: Universal Audio PolyMAX Synth, Pulsar Audio W495 EQ or Loopcloud 1-Month Artist Plan.
The sale is only available at the Plugin Boutique website, which is linked at the bottom of the article, and is not available at the Moog website.
The Plugin Boutique deal is also exclusively for the Windows and Mac Mariana desktop release.
There is a separate iOS Mariana release, which is available at its standard list price of $30 at the Moog site, but this mobile version is not available at Plugin Boutique.
The Mariana is presumably named after the Mariana Trench, as Moog states that it is “capable of reaching the deepest depths of low-end tone and weight.”
Moog further explains that the plugin is “designed for intuitive audio layering and processing, merging the soul of Moog bass with user-friendly technology for all digital creators.”
Both Moog and Plugin Boutique have released demos for the Mariana, and it’s certainly got a vibe to it.
To my ears, Moog has definitely captured the special sauce that made their hardware synths so iconic.
Mariana is a dual-layer synth, which enables you to mix two different synth sounds together that can “dynamically complement each other or be played duophonically”.
A fair bit is going on in the interface, but compared to the sprawling control schemes of the Moog hardware synths, the plugin starts looking more lightweight.

Mariana is available for Windows for VST3, AAX, and standalone, as well as macOS in VST3, AU, AAX, and standalone.
The release is compatible with Windows 10 64-bit Intel Core i7 2.5GHz systems or newer and macOS 11.7 Intel Core i7 2.5GHz or Apple Silicon or newer.
