So, what’s included in this collection?
You will get five plugins in total, spanning the various brands under the Native Instruments umbrella.
NI Massive likely needs no introduction if you’re a seasoned pro at production. This wavetable synth has been so thoroughly covered that I’m likely just spinning the tires, telling you something that you already know.
NI Massive is the only synthesizer plugin included in the package, which isn’t bad because this particular synth has tens of thousands of presets available for it. Also, you can still get a free PolyMAX synthesizer with any purchase this month.
NeoVerb carries on the legacy of Exponential Audio’s stellar reverbs. You’ll find some familiar algorithms here if you’re familiar with R4 and Phoenix. Like the rest of Izotope’s software, you can call upon the AI assistant to carve out the right reverb for your sound source.
Personally, I like going more towards the 80s vibe with noise and chorusing, but the crystalline aspect of the modern algorithms showcased here is a welcome addition.
NI Studio Drummer helps round out this collection’s percussion needs. This sample library is usable by the free Kontakt Player and sounds decent to my ears.
I likely won’t be ditching BFD3 anytime soon for it. However, if you need some real-world drums, Studio Drummer fits those needs quite well.
The collection is rounded out with a pair of plugins from Brainworx. bx_console Focusrite SC is a channel strip modelled after a Focusrite console as you might imagine.
I’ve had this one for a while and enjoy the gate and EQ. The compressor isn’t my cup of tea, but that’s down to user preference.
bx_hybrid V2 is a fairly in-depth equalizer. You’ve got plenty of bands and tweaking available. The interface does lack visualization, but bx_digital V3 is a perennial favourite despite its limited controls.
If you’re new to music production, this a splendid collection that covers quite a few bases.
