I already started the strategy and will upgrade it; I am working on building the album itself, beyond making songs and messing around. I have a plan on how the album will sound, what will be the visual style that will go with it, the general meaning and ambiance of the project, EVERYTHING. So with that, I get a direction I want to go towards. This sets a goal and the path comes naturally because of it.

onTo finish songs more in 2024 I’m going to commit to actually finishing what I started. Gone are the days of me just writing a guitar lick or a melody on the keys, or one line of a chorus. When I sit down and try to write or when inspiration strikes me and I get down the melody in my head, the baseline, the lyric, any part of a song that comes to me, I’m going to continue with that idea as far as I can in that moment. No matter how dumb that annoying self doubt voice in my head tells me it is. Or how silly I feel because it isn’t the genre I want people to perceive me as, or whatever genre that comes out. I’m going to commit and write that song that day or as much as I can that day/session and I will put it on my Soundcloud at the very least and if it comes out sounding nice I’ll even go the next step and promote it on all my social. But the main idea is to commit to what comes out, enjoy the process, and stop preventing myself from achieving greatness and what I know I can. Also I’m going to collab more and stop being so anti-social lol. Peace and love to you all and thanks for doing this giveaway!

onTo finish more songs in 2024, I think I need to let go of some perfectionistic tendencies. I tend to spend too much time fiddling with very small decisions during the writing stage that ultimately won’t make much difference in the overall sound of a track. I should instead shift my focus as soon as I reach a “good enough” point on whichever part I’m working on. After all, it’s more important to complete the overall vision of the song and not let myself get carried away with small things! The small things can come at the end after the whole song has taken shape.

onHonestly the main thing I need to do to finish more songs is to let them be finished! It can be difficult to let a mix go when it always feels like things could be changed or tweaked that much more, always searching for the perfect sound. With clients, sometimes it is easier as they usually have a goal or sound in mind to work toward and their feedback is vital to the process. When it comes to my own productions, I have a tendency to want to keep working on them indefinitely, well past when the song could be considered “finished”. To achieve my goal, I will look for feedback from more people instead of relying on my ear alone.

onI have spent a lot of time watching videos and reading tutorials. My head was really full of it and it made me quite tired and demotivated. It wasn’t until one evening that I grabbed an external sampler, threw on a beat and started twisting the knobs. And I found that the best way is to have constant and live contact with the tools. Try and play. And above all to be happy about it. That’s my way to productivity 2024. Have fun with it, but also have a certain system.

I will try to be more aware of what i am doing in the project and be more ruthless with decision making and moving on.
I will try not getting too much emotions involved and judge the project too early.
Rather than thinking “oh how will it sound to others” or whatever nonsense the mind comes up with at that moment of producing, i will just pay attention to what needs to be done at that moment.
Instead of getting meticulous with just 4 bars of idea I will try to just lay the whole track as fast as possible and then later work on details.

My goal in order to maximize my workflow is to go from Reason 10, Studio One 4 Professional and Windows 10 to complete mastery of Reaper 7 and Linux instead of jumping back and forth all the time, and also create my own custom theme for Reaper 7 with my own (non-AI-generated) artwork, so that the whole process feels more me instead of corporate.
I also want to exclusively support the music software and hardware brands that support Linux and DRM-free software, and in the process slowly but steadily move away from all of my paid plugins with DRM from companies with constant EULA revisions, forced telemetry and always/regular online activations with CPU intensive and power consuming background processes that runs in my OS, and also means a higher electric bill.
In the long run I only want to use freeware, donationware and paid plugins that doesn’t use DRM that requires online activation, or at least with the option for a one-time offline activation method, or preferably plugins that use no DRM at all.
I also want to design both my own physical EPs, and later album, cover and booklet with a classic jewel case with my own artwork in order to get the full nostalgic experience like the ones I remember from my childhood and teenage years before the steadily growing digitalization of every music, movie, game and book mediums in the mainstream.
