[REVIEW] Trance Cosmos Elements Volume 3 By Myloops

Trance Cosmos: Elements Volume 3Myloops, a sound design company specialized in manufacturing sound packs suitable for trance music producers, have released the third addition to their contruction kit series – Trance Cosmos : Elements Volume 3. The sounds in this sample pack were created as a collaborate effort between Jonathan Blakoe, who is the main sound designer for Myloops, and David Michael Sherlock of Groove Mafia who is a dance music producer also known for his previous synth programming work.

Trance Cosmos Elements Volume 3 is essentially a construction kit package, featuring ten separate construction kits best suitable for application in melodic/euphoric trance productions.

Each of the ten construction kits includes separate loops of various track elements, but also comes with a number of folders containing multisampled instruments, and also MIDI parts for all the melodic loops included in the kit. So each construction kit comes with three different kinds of content, now let’s dig a bit deeper and see what’s on offer.

The loops are in 16bit, 44.1kHz WAV format, set to a tempo of 138/140 beats per minute. Each track element comes with several separate loops in both dry and wet versions. A fair amount of attention to details is noticeable here, since we get separate Lo/Mid/Hi bass loops for example, instead of one layered bass loop which would allow much less flexibility. Generally speaking, each of the the construction kits includes several bass loops, a number of synth riffs or arpeggio variations, string section loops and their variations, a set of FX/atmosphere loops, lead melody phrases, and finally separate loops for different elements of the drum track. The mentioned variations of certain loops come either as melodic variations, or different automation sequences including filter cutoff modulation sequences, etc. Each construction kit also includes an example loop with all the elements used together, which can be handy for quick reviewing purposes.

My only complaint when it comes to the looped content is that i would like to have seen some more variation in the included kick drum loops. The bundled kicks are very solid, as are the drum tracks in general, but adding a few more choices here couldn’t hurt. The content of these kits shows much more versatility and variation in the melodic parts though, so a lack of variation in drum tracks is understandable.

Same as the loops, the multisampled instruments are in 16bit WAV format, but each multisampled instrument folder also includes a soundfont version of the instrument, which is indeed a nice touch. Every melodic part of the track comes with a corresponding multisampled instrument, allowing the users to create their own variations in case the included loops are not enough. Same as with the loops, there are separate multisamples for Lo/Mid/Hi bass instruments, strings, pads, leads, etc. These are all more or less classic uplifting and euphoric trance sounds, providing a nice sound pallette for a user who is not really into messing with synthesizer controls, but needs some ready to use samples instead.

Finally, the MIDI parts can be used to further edit and tune the harmonic content of all the track elements. These can of course be used either with the included multisamples, or any 3rd party synthesizer or sampler. These MIDI parts can really come in handy as a quick inspiration booster in situations where you need to sketch up a new harmony or a melody, but are in desperate need of a starting point.

So, with all of this taken into account, even though I’m not always a fan of construction kits and prefer to do everything on my own, I must say that these ten kits offer generous amounts of quality content which can be used in various creative ways. From quickly mashing up tracks using the included loops, to working on your own track parts using multisampled instruments and MIDI sequences, this edition of Trance Cosmos Elements provides plenty of material to play around with. I would love to have seen a little bit more variation in the drum elements, but the melodic parts were clearly the focus here, and the included bass, synth, and other instrument sounds of quality high enough to prove it. So, if you’re looking for tools to enhance your trance productions, this is an offer certainly worth considering, taking into account the fair price of € 31.95, versatility of included kit elements, and more than 3Gb of bunded content.

Hey there this is kinda of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding knowledge so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!

certainly like your website but you need to check the spelling on several of your posts. Many of them are rife with spelling issues and I find it very bothersome to tell the truth nevertheless I’ll surely come back again.
